The BAZELAIRE'S ENSEMBLE

Paul Bazelaire devoted himself to the creation of "L'ensemble Paul Bazelaire" made up of 50 cellists.

"This ensemble, unique in France, never equaled, is a pure marvel of musical execution. It is welcomed with great enthusiasm wherever it performs and reveals numerous contemporary works to the public."

But why create an ensemble of cellos?

On the occasion of Pablo Casals' farewell concert at the Sorbonne on October 10, 1956, Pablo Casals had the pleasure of conducting an ensemble of 100 cellos in which the Ensemble Bazelaire played an important part.
